14 Dec Christmas markets in Milan
In Milan you can breathe the holiday atmosphere: decorations and lights along the streets, the rush for the shopping and the traditional Christmas markets, which the citizens of Milan and tourists really love.
During Christmas there are many markets and they are spread all around the city: we suggest you some of them that are easily reachable from our Hotel. You just have to choose your favourite!
Markets of the Dome
The stalls of the Christmas markets along Corso Vittorio Emanuele II and Via Arcivescovado make our town’s city centre very suggestive.
Until 6 January you can have a walk under the Dome, peeking at the booths that offer products of all kinds: clothes, decorations, typical food from the Italian regions and handcrafts. Part of the income will be given to the “Veneranda Fabbrica del Duomo” for the restoration project of the Cathedral’s spires.
Darsena Christmas Village
You can feel the magic of Christmas also on the Darsena’s banks, with the second edition of the Darsena Christmas Village, which is full of attractions both for children and adults: the aquatic sleigh, Santa Claus’ house and the classical markets with handcrafted products and many delicacies.
The appointment will last till January 8th, you can’t miss it!
Villaggio delle Meraviglie
At just 10 minute walk from the Hotel Cavour, at the Montanelli’s gardens, you will find the eleventh edition of the Villaggio delle Meraviglie.
The park comes alive with carousels and shows, two ice skating rinks, Santa Claus’ House, stalls full of sweets and several restaurants: all the right elements for a fairy-tale Christmas!
Gae Aulenti Christmas Village
Moving to Garibaldi/Porta Nuova area, the modern centre of Milan becomes a Christmas village, the Gae Aulenti Christmas Village.
Here, until January 7th, you can have a walk and shop at the stalls that sell handcraft and gastronomic products, skate on ice surrounded by the Porta Nuova skyscrapers (Gae Aulenti On Ice) and visit the International Navity Scene Exhibition.
Emergency Market
Finally, we want to mention a nice initiative organized by Emergency, that from December 1st to December 24th hosts at its venue in Via Santa Croce a Christmas Market with handcraft objects coming from the countries in which the Organization acts. The income will be given to medical centres and hospitals.
