Trams are still one of the means of transport most used by Milanese people in addition to the subway and now are more and more sophisticated and comfortable; but what happened to the historical trams of the "Milan of the past"?

ATM (the Milan Transport Company) thought about that with a beautiful project: the ATMosfera trams! Not just trams for passengers but real travelling restaurants.

The ATMosfera trams are the result of careful design work, makeover and modernization of the oldest tram cars in Milan. The interior space has been optimized for maximum comfort without affecting the original structure of the tram.

By remodeling the original teak benches, they obtained tables with comfortable seats in a fixed position for a total of 24 seats, divided into 4 tables of four people and 4 tables of two people. On board there are also the kitchen, the wardrobe and the toilet.

The menu changes regularly to ensure the seasonality and freshness of the raw materials. Proposals can be customized to suit your taste (meat, fish, vegetarian) and they are made by renowned chefs always on board. Certainly, the wine list can’t miss: a wide selection of labels that put first quality and food pairing.

You can get on the restaurant ATMosfera tram every night in Piazza Castello and Via Beltrami and, during the dinner, you will be accompanied to visit the most beautiful and evocative places of the historical and contemporary Milan.

It’s possible to admire the new area of Porta Nuova and Piazza Gae Aulenti, where you can observe the skyline with the famous "Vertical Forest" skyscraper, in perfect contrast to the historical buildings in Milan such as the Duomo, Arco della Pace, the Scala Theatre and Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II.

The Castello Sforzesco, always immersed in a special and different atmosphere thanks to the play of lights and colors that change depending on the season, is the setting of the start and finish path of the ATMosfera trams in a historic location, one of the most evocative of our city.
