Milan for kids

Milan is defined as the fashion capital, the host of the design week, the house of shows and exhibitions, but it is not just a city for adults. In fact, many events and initiatives are dedicated to children: theatre shows, exhibitions, creative workshops, treasure hunts and much more.
Here are some of the events you can enjoy with your children in Milan.

On the 22nd and 23rd of October, children and adults are invited to the Museum of Science and Technology, close to the underground station of Sant'Ambrogio, for a weekend dedicated to creativity and training workshops.

Designers, musicians, writers, photographers, visual artists, performers and architects will challenge themselves. They will communicate with the little ones to give them a unique experience, which will also involve parents. The UovoKids Festival includes a wide range of activities, some are on an ongoing basis for the duration of the festival, others have a limited number of participants but are repeated several times a day.
In addition to the activities of the festival, the Science and Technology Museum is open to visitors. You can visit the pavilion of the locomotives, the interior of the Enrico Toti submarine, the interactive exhibition dedicated to the Space and much more. There are activities for all tastes!

From the workshops we move to the theatre, specifically to the Teatro Alla Scala, where from the 30th of September to the next 21st of May Il Ratto dal Serraglio will be performed: a show that wants to teach the importance of respect and love. The music of Mozart will be the soundtrack of the story. In the tale Belmonte and Pedrillo are struggling with saving their girlfriends from the clutches of the rude rivals.

The Art of The Brick by Nathan Sawaya is an exhibition for adults and children on show at the Fabbrica del Vapore, via Procaccini 14, from October the 18th until January the 29th, 2017. The 100 colourful works, produced by the American artist using 1 million of Lego bricks, will be exhibited in a space of 1,600 square meters. In the works there will be the "Thinker" by Rodin and the 6 meters-long skeleton of a dinosaur!
At the end of the exhibition there is a play area where visitors can set free their creativity while having fun with Lego bricks and video games, provided by the exhibition.

Until January 2017, the Fondazione Prada presents “Puppets, Marionettes... Robots and Real Children”, a project dedicated to childhood in which the leading thread is the animated object. The exhibition, curated by the neuro-pediatrician Giannetta Ottilia Latis, will present workshops, events and free screenings, including the show based on the Oscar Wilde's story The Selfish Giant, acted by Eugenio Colla and Piero Corbella, from the historic Marionette Company Carlo Colla e Figli.

The last appointment dedicated to children and their families is for the evening of Halloween: Clamoroso furto al Museo Egizio! It is an event open to all children aged from 7 to 11 years old, who are invited to help guardians to solve the mysterious case of the disappearance of a precious find. The appointment is for Monday, October 31st in the museum, where the theft took place, armed with wit and imagination!

Adventures for children do not end there: exhibitions and events in Milan are always around the corner to entertain, amuse and teach something to the little public.
Now you just need to extend your stay in Milan with your family!
