30 Dec Stage shows planned in Milan for 2017
The city of Milan can be easily defined the capital of theatre. In effect, theatres represent an ancient and important cultural tradition for Milan, and we can’t forget La Scala, considered one of the best theatres in the Lombard city. Today we want to introduce you some of the shows programmed for the 2017 season in the most famous theatres of the city. Let’s begin!
Don Carlo – Giuseppe Verdi
From January 17th to February 12th Don Carlo, the lyric drama by Giuseppe Verdi, will debut at La Scala. This play is considered one of the most difficult ever realized by the musician and it’s composed of five acts, for a total duration of 5 hours. You can buy tickets for the show on the official website. Prices start from 34,90 euros for the gallery 4 area, to a price of 300 euros for the parterre.
Dieci storie proprio così
From January 24th to January 29th, at Piccolo Teatro will debut Dieci storie proprio così, a collaboration among theatres, penitentiary institutes and schools, that wants to be a provocation against the mafia net that would want to see the community and its capability to react defeated. In this show, the stories of the victims of the organized criminality are told, dealing with themes such as responsibility, civic engagement and social release. The show will debut at Piccolo Teatro Grassi, in Via Rovello. The price of the ticket starts from 22,00 euros.
Pinocchio… As we have never seen it
At Piccolo Teatro Strehler in Largo Greppi, from January 19th to February 12th, we will watch Pinocchio, Antonio Latella’s show, under a light that we have never seen. Latella will place himself in front of Pinocchio, looking for a new interpretation of the story and making us notice that the nose of the marionette didn’t extend only when he used to say a lie, but also when, for example, he was hungry. Moreover, he will reveal his idea of how Pinocchio’s nose let him perceive life in a different way than the others. The prices of the ticket for the show start from 14,00 euros.
Green Day’s American Idiot
Let’s now move to Teatro della Luna which, from January 26th to February 12th, will host for the first time in Italy the musical American Idiot, a rock show by Green Day, the famous American band. This show has already debuted at Berkeley, in California, and in Brodway, and has won many awards. Among the musical songs, there will be the famous 21 Guns, Wake me up when September ends, American Idiot and many others. The musical tells about the story of three friends that are looking for a place in the world after the events on September 11th. The prices of the ticket for this show start from 19,00 euros for the third seat, to 59,00 euros for the front-row seat. Reduced tickets are provided for the people under 14 and over 70 years old. If you love this band, you can’t miss this event!
